There are many believers who are being oppressed by the enemy to the point of frustration. I have personally been there at many points in my life particularly in my high school days, during professional school and into marriage. Sometimes, these oppressive regimens are backed by demonic spirits, generational vibrations and patterns in the bloodline.

Stagnation is characterized by a lack of development, advancement or progressive movement. In the journey of growth, there are times when we grow and excel, we are endlessly driven and hyped up, motivated to get our goals, then there are times when we stagnate, we feel uninspired and unmotivated, we keep procrastinating on our plans.

How do you know if you are stagnating? Here are some signs

• • If you have been experiencing chronic procrastination on your goals.
  • If you don’t ever feel like doing anything.
  • If you keep turning to sleep, eating, games, mindless activities and entertainment for comfort.
  • If you know you should be doing something but you keep avoiding it.
  • If you have a deep sense of feeling that you are living under your potential.
  • If spiritual things like studying the scriptures, praying and fellowshipping with brethren does not matter to you.

All of these signs indicate that one is operating under the spirit of stagnation and which must be dealt with in prayer. The spirit of stagnation is the force of retardation that makes the past of a person to be better than the present. This force of retardation creates stagnancy, wasted effort and delay in the accomplishment of life assignment. The devil is our greatest enemy, he wants to stop us from pursuing our goals, he wants to stop us from moving forward and he even hinders our greatness by stagnating and putting our life on hold. He attempts to make to God a liar in the lives of the people of God. Do not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. Since the devil is the enemy we therefore need to fight in the place of prayer to get our life back on track, to where God has really destined it to be. Spirit of stagnation is very stubborn, it does not go on its own, you have to pray aggressively for it to disappear from your life.

Let us study through some of the most aggressive demonic spirits that champion stagnation and delay in a believer’s life.

SPIRIT OF EGYPT:

“So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply center for the king”- Exodus 1:11

Anything can represent an “Egypt”. It could be an institution, a system or a person or an authority! The spirit of Egypt is an enslaving spirit whose function is have you labor without notable results. Have you found yourself toiling and laboring and yet not reaping what is rightfully yours?

This is what the children of Israel went through in Egypt under the hand of their wicked “task masters” until God came to “deliver them from their affliction out of the hand of the Egyptians and bring them to a land!” (Exodus 3:7). I know of a man in his much younger days who found himself in recurring cycles of oppressive living, meager jobs excessive poverty that was siphoning his intellect and entrepreneurial capacity he tells me; he wasn’t aware until the holy spirit gave him a revelation and God broke him out of that satanic cycle! Your case may be different, but the same power is at work to enable you to break free today in Jesus name!
